Healthy Aging in Our Body and Mind

Picture
As we all grow older, we notice many changes in our in our body and mind.
Getting older is something we cannot control, but how we age we have total control over, so taking charge now is very important. It is always best to start as young as possible with your routines. Our diets change as we grow older, and our body starts to loose nutrients that it requires to stay healthy.  As we grow older, our body absorbs fewer vitamins that it needs to stay strong. Taking supplements to increase your daily vitamin intake, and increasing activities will keep you strong.

Activities play an exceedingly important role in keeping our bodies and mind in shape. As we age, we have a tendency to slow down. The slowness causes the bones to stiffen and the brain starts to slow down as well. Our brains and body need as much activities as they can get to keep them from losing the ability to function, as they should.

Our bodies need exercise every day or as much as possible. Get into an exercise program to keep the movement going and it will help the brain at the same time. An exercise program can be done with a group making it more fun and you’ll enjoy doing it with others and at the same time as you meet new people. Keep your body moving all of the time so you do not get lazy and want to stop.

Exercising will help you lose weight, tone up, keeps you from getting stiff and will give you something to look forward to each day. If you get bored doing the same thing each day, try walking every other day for 30 minutes and on the off days enjoy your curriculum with your new friends.
When starting a new exercise program take it slow and easy so you don’t get sore. When you start something new, such as workouts you are using muscles and parts of our body that were out of use. The muscles are tight, so you want to take it slow at the start. Begin with stretches and end with stretches as well. Don’t stop once you’ve started a program; keep going and you’ll notice a big difference? It takes time to see growth but it will benefit you in the end.

Your diet plays a vital part in maintaining your health. Being overweight is common and it should be evaluated regularly by your doctor.
If you’re overweight, it can cause many things to go wrong with your system.

Diabetes has become increasingly in young and old alike. Diabetes, if caught in time, can be controlled by exercise and diet. Be sure to get the right amount of carbs, fats, and protein in your diet each day to help keep the doctor away.

A well balanced diet slows down the aging process and makes a healthier you. The best choice for keeping healthy, as you grow older is to exercise and eat right to take control of your mind and body.

What Goal Setting Activities Are Important

Goal setting activities are crucial when you are deciding what you want your life to become many years from now. A few of the benefits you will receive as a result of defining and setting major goals in life are peace of mind and focus.
Here are some of the goal setting activities that can help you:
  1. Use your mind and talents fully. Maximize what has been given you. If you are aware that you are capable of things that other people are not, make it work to your advantage in a way that helps others.
  2. Have more purpose and direction in life. Believe it or not, there are many people who only discover what they want in life in later years. It is important to have specific goals early on in life to be able to have more time to work on them and bring them into reality.
  3. Make better decisions. Do not be hasty in whatever endeavors you encounter in life. Not all things have to be decided on instantly. Think fully before making any decision that you might regret later on.
  4. Be more organized and effective. Take note that not all people who are always rushing things and on the go are the most effective people. There are other considerations in life that have to be neatly planned to have an effective result. Sit down for a moment and make a schedule or plan.
  5. Do more for yourself and others. Too much and too less of giving and taking is not always good. There are times when we have to balance these factors. Know which one needs your attention more, yourself or others. Although it is not always a problem, you have to have equal time set for both.
  6. Have greater confidence and self-worth. One of the greatest threats that can pull you down is lack of self-confidence and self-worth. If you do not have that belief in yourself, why should others put their faith in you? Other people that are lacking in talent and resources can get through by oozing self-confidence to help them pursue their goals.
  7. Feel more fulfilled. Be happy with the simple things that you have attained in a day. Do not set aside small victories as something that are worthless. All achievements should make you feel good.
  8. Be more enthusiastic and motivated. Face each day as a day different from the last. Try to make each day a work of art, a masterpiece.
  9. Accomplish uncommon projects. Nothing can compare with the feeling when you have done something that helps others. Try to be successful in things that other people are in need of.
  10. Always be thankful for what you already have. Be satisfied with what you have.
Once you have completed one goal, be sure to replace it with something else. Goal setting achievements are a life-long process. You have all the time in the world to do what you want. This way you will always reap the benefits of what your goal settings has provided.

Omega 3 Oils Are Essential Nutrients

Picture
The following article covers a topic that has recently moved to center stage, at least it seems that way. If you've been thinking you need to know more about it, here's your opportunity.
Researchers in Denmark in the 1970's found that the Inuit people in Greenland, showed a much lower rate of cardiovascular problems than the people of most places. The answers that were found in this research showed that even though the Intuit people had a high consumption of fats, they were actually fats from fish, Seals, Whales and other sea foods, in fact they were Omega 3 fatty acids.
After that discovery, many studies were set up all over the world and they have shown that the original research was correct, in that Omega 3 oils did help to prevent Heart Disease, Cancer and Diabetes, together with the fact that they did help tremendously in improving overall health.
The following is a few of the diseases that can be helped or prevented with Omega 3 oils:
Heart Disease and Strokes, Auto immune Diseases, Breast, Colon and Prostate cancer, High Blood Pressure and Arthritis, (especially Rheumatoid).
Research in the past has also shown that a high intake of certain fish can help in the prevention of age related memory loss, consequently lowering the risk of developing Alzheimer's Disease, in fact it has shown that a large number of people have enjoyed an improvement in the quality of their lives, through taking Omega 3 Oils.
Those of you not familiar with the latest on Omega 3 Oils now have at least a basic understanding. But there's more to come.
It has been found that children who eat the oily types of fish on a regular basis, have a lower risk of developing Asthma, while children that do not have an intake of Omega 3 oils, are more likely to have behavioral problems and learning disorders. This could be a lead to problems like dyslexia, depression, eczema, violence, allergies, and arthritis.
The old story that "Fish is Brain food" is very true as the human brain is mainly made up of fat and that fat is the type that requires omega 3 as nutrition, it is especially needed for pregnant mothers and for the development of the baby and its brain. Fish oil has been shown to lower Cholesterol and Triglyceride levels, which of course is beneficial to all.
Omega 3 oils can do a lot for your skin, it will improve the texture and help prevent age wrinkling and that is by consuming the oil, you don't have to rub it in to your skin, it really works from within your body. Omega 3 oils are very close to being a miracle as far as the human body is concerned, they are natural, and like Glyconutrients, the sugars that heal, they are essential for good health.
Everyone needs Omega 3 oils, normal adults need them to maintain health and prevent disease, older people need it even more to help their immune system fight off disease, and the important part that the oils play in helping to prevent the age related problems and diseases that develop as you get older, it might even improve longevity, but if it doesn't, it will definitely improve the quality.
Is there really any information about Omega 3 Oils that is nonessential? We all see things from different angles, so something relatively insignificant to one may be crucial to another.
